Spectator
When I was caring for my aging mother, I discovered my investigation of the Self in relationship to the larger meaning of history, life and death.
The Spectator Project explores Self, in relationship to a temporal and spatial connection in history and with nature. It consists of 39 reawakened school chairs, painted with the portraits of historical and possibly tragic icons. A tri-part film plays behind the audience. The viewer is invited to add their story in this multi-level conversation that raises questions regardng loss and compassion.
