Summer Dayz is an eco doc about acoustic awareness and the noise
in modern society infringing on nature.

 


The Choice is an experimental short film exploring generational
connection between mother and daughter.

 


This is another experimental short film. It is a metaphorical feminist
journey based on the filmmaker’s childhood memory and
immortalized in a poetic narration.

 


Insight Out is an experimental film that articulates a feminine
subjectivity and aesthetic sensibility in a site- specific artist world, my
studio in nature. It is a self portrait and explores the act of seeing, and
the connection of the eye and hand in the process of the creative act.
Inspired by Joyce Wieland’s Water Sark (1964) Amarah Gabriel works
to claim an active female gaze and an ecofeminist lens.

 


Through montage & interview footage, this film aims to deconstruct
the idea of age, concluding that it is “more than a number”. Special
interview with Canadian writer Jane Rule.
Produced at the Gulf Islands Film and Television School during the
AdultMedia Intensive Program (April 28 – May 4, 2002) by Amarah
Gabriel, Chris Fraser, and Teija Kovanen.

 


A Super 8 intimate portrayal exploring connection to the life
sustaining cycles of water, food, preparation, and woman’s nurturing.
With prose poetry by the filmaker, it is a spiritual offering of daily
delights.

This video mini-doc explores Marijuana grow ops on Galiano Island, BC.
Using interviews with an RCMP Constable, a criminal lawyer, a grower,
and 3 members of the community.
